MRI Services
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a noninvasive imaging test that uses powerful magnets and radio waves to produce detailed images of the body's bones, joints, muscles, ligaments, nerves, discs, and soft tissues without the use of radiation. MRI is often used to diagnose conditions that cannot be fully evaluated with X-rays alone.
Spine & Orthopedic Center features a high-field 1.5T MRI system with a shorter tunnel design to provide greater patient comfort while delivering exceptional image quality. Compared to low-field MRI systems, high-field MRI provides more detailed images that help your doctor make an accurate diagnosis.
MRI may be used to evaluate:
- Abnormal growths & tumors
- Blood vessels & blood flow
- Bulging & herniated discs
- Degenerative disc disease
- Joint injuries
- Lymph nodes & organ function
- Pinched nerves and sciatica
- Spinal abnormalities
- Spinal stenosis
In some cases, MRI images obtained after the use of contrast dye may provide additional information about blood vessels and surrounding tissues.
MRI appointments are also available during extended evening hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays to better accommodate our patients' schedules.
Digital X-Ray Services
Digital X-rays are one of the most common and effective diagnostic imaging tools used to evaluate orthopedic injuries and conditions. X-rays create detailed images of bones and joints by passing a small amount of electromagnetic energy through the body, allowing your doctor to identify fractures, alignment issues, arthritis, and other abnormalities.
Spine & Orthopedic Center offers in-house digital X-ray services at all of our locations. Images are available for immediate review, allowing your doctor to evaluate your condition during your visit and begin developing your treatment plan without unnecessary delays.
Digital X-rays are commonly used to evaluate:
- Arthritis & joint degeneration
- Bone alignment
- Dislocations
- Fractures
- Joint abnormalities
- Spinal conditions
There is typically no special preparation required before an X-ray. However, patients may be asked to remove metal objects, such as belts, jewelry, zippers, or clothing with metallic materials, to ensure the clearest possible images.
