Dr. Kristy Fisher Designated an Intracept® Center of Excellence Physician

Spine & Orthopedic Center is proud to announce that Dr. Kristy Fisher has been designated an Intracept Center of Excellence (COE) physician by Boston Scientific, the company behind the Intracept Procedure.

The Intracept Center of Excellence Program recognizes physicians who specialize in the Intracept Procedure for chronic low back pain and who have achieved a high level of training and experience with the procedure. To earn the designation, physicians must participate in Boston Scientific professional education programs, meet procedure experience requirements, track patient outcomes, provide patient or physician education on Intracept and take part in ongoing program reviews focused on clinical data and best practices.

What Is the Intracept Procedure?

The Intracept Procedure is an FDA-cleared, minimally invasive outpatient treatment for vertebrogenic pain, a specific type of chronic low back pain that originates from the vertebral endplates. The procedure targets the basivertebral nerve, which carries pain signals from damaged endplates, and may be an option for select patients whose chronic low back pain has not responded to conservative care.
