Dr. Kristy Fisher, M.D., is a highly skilled pain management physician dedicated to providing cutting-edge and compassionate care to patients suffering from chronic and acute pain conditions. With a strong background in interventional pain medicine and psychiatry, Dr. Fisher brings a comprehensive, patient-centered approach to treating complex pain issues.
Dr. Fisher completed her Pain Medicine Fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, where she received advanced training in interventional pain management techniques. Throughout her fellowship, she participated in specialized workshops and cadaver courses, mastering procedures such as kyphoplasty, spinal cord stimulation, and tumor ablation. Her deep understanding of these techniques allows her to offer her patients the most innovative and effective treatment options available.
In addition to her fellowship training, Dr. Fisher gained extensive clinical experience during her pain medicine rotations at prestigious institutions such as the University of South Florida, Mayo Clinic, and Harvard University’s Massachusetts General Hospital. Prior to specializing in pain management, she completed her residency in psychiatry at Aventura Hospital and Medical Center, earning numerous accolades for her clinical excellence, including being named Resident of the Year in 2023.
Dr. Fisher’s educational background is equally impressive. She holds a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) and a Master of Science in Neurological & Behavioral Tropical Medicine from St. George’s University School of Medicine. She also earned an MBA in Healthcare Management & Marketing, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Stony Brook University. Her academic achievements have been recognized with numerous honors, including graduating cum laude, receiving the Intern of the Year award, and being a scholarship recipient for the ASRA/APPD Advanced Interventional Pain Management Course.
Dr. Fisher is passionate about helping her patients achieve a higher quality of life through personalized treatment plans that address their unique needs. Her areas of expertise include regenerative medicine, spinal injections, spinal cord stimulators, tumor ablation, and medication management for both acute and chronic pain. She also holds certification in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy, reflecting her commitment to a holistic and multidisciplinary approach to pain management.
Dr. Fisher’s dedication to her patients is matched by her commitment to staying at the forefront of pain management advancements. She is deeply invested in improving patient outcomes and helping individuals reclaim their lives from the grip of pain.
In her leisure time, Dr. Fisher enjoys figure skating, hockey, snowboarding, and scuba diving. Dr. Fisher is proud to serve the South Florida community and looks forward to making a positive impact on the lives of her patients at Spine & Orthopedic Center.
